Undoing the mental conditioning.

Ok. You’ve got a life; you want to make it better. Where do you start? To most of us making more money is an obvious part of the answer. More spiritual ones may be far less evident. Changing you life spiritually also has everything to do with the individual. One can't simply write some rules and steps to follow which will work for everyone.

Making money however is the opposite. Once you understand money better, (no matter who you are) you’re on your way. Money doesn’t really change depending on what type of person you are. The same general rules apply to everybody.

Having more money is definitely part of improving your life because the more money you have the more freedom you have to live your life the way you want.

The problem is, we are subconsciously (and somewhat accidentally) programmed not to want to make too much money.

From the day we are born, we learn from people who don’t have as much money as they would like. Family members, parents and teachers who are often dissatisfied with their own personal wealth. Its not their fault. They had the same problem. It’s a perpetual cycle.

To console them people like this remind you “money can’t buy happiness”. What they forget is it can take away the problems which lack of money causes. Considering the most common thing people worry about is money, that’s a big weight of your shoulders. If you add to this nice things, regular holidays to exotic locations and a comfortable lifestyle (without having to work) those that are still unhappy need professional help.

People who don't understand money picture money as a pie. They think “if I have more, then someone will have less” which really means (to them) “The people who have more, are making me have less” ; (e.g. by avoiding tax while I am not able to, therefore I pay more than my ‘share’).

The truth about money is it’s far more dynamic than that. Money is more than just the paper notes that we use every day. The notes we use are just placeholders to allow our transactions to be easily made between one another regardless off the services we provide or the goods well sell. Paper money simply facilitates trade and we are trading with one another round and round in millions of goods and services every day.

Money is also being brought into existence all the time. Money is constantly being printed and introduced electronically (to make up for increased demand caused by things like inflation).

The point is, if you get richer, someone else doesn’t get poorer. An easy way to prove this is: Imagine your house went up in value and you were able to borrow more money against the increase in equity, to, (for arguments sake) start a business. You win, the bank wins, the bank shareholders and people with savings at the bank win. Oh, and you then you are able to provide a product or service people need.

In fact what else can you do with you money, but help others? You can only really do two things with money, either you spend it (giving profit to others) or you invest it (allowing others to use it for business/home loans etc).

Many people blame money for their situation, but the only thing you can do with money is to benefit yourself and others.

Look at it another way. If you hire a hit man to kill someone, it’s not the money that is evil. Sure you can use money to do bad things, but money is just an inanimate object and can't do anything by itself.

Things like greed or theft often give money a bad name. Its up to us to break our social conditioning and take responsibility for what we do (with money).

Perhaps you already know this and despite constant lecturing from people dissatisfied with their own wealth you feel you have good beliefs regarding money. Thats a good start.

Actually that’s most of us. But it’s still mostly on the surface, deep down it's still the same old story. Societies anti rich people brainwashing is very subtle. It comes from jealousy which is just human nature. The situation is getting better because people are becoming wealthier. One can see from rich people that financial freedom means less worry and often healthier/happier living.

Personally of all the wealthy people I have met, most are laid back, happy people. Yes they still have worries, and money didn’t solve all their problems, but for the most part rich people are generous, fun and interesting people.

The sad truth is most people’s subconscious is holding them back. Something deep down is telling them either they can’t become rich (well look at this soon) or they shouldn’t be (without becoming a bad person).

What a load of nonsense.

To help correct this good measure of positive thinking and positive action is required.

Tell yourself “I can make money. I am allowed to make money and my increased wealth also benefits others.” If you are good at meditation, the positive thought visualised and repeated in a state of deep relaxation will help counteract any damage done.

One positive thought which I tell myself frequently “I want to be rich, I'm allowed to become rich, I can become rich, I must become rich”. Repeating these positive comments to yourself will help counteract the tainted image of money you have been presented with for such a long time.

Good luck.
